Bill Meehan, PE, is a veteran electric utility executive, author, educator, and internationally recognized thought leader in utility GIS. He spent two decades with a major electric utility in the Northeast, where he held senior leadership roles including Vice President of Electric Operations and Supply Chain and Director of Engineering. He also pioneered the company’s GIS program and led it through successful implementation.

Bill later spent nearly two decades at Esri as Director of Electric Utility Solutions, helping utilities worldwide apply GIS to improve operations, reliability, and decision-making. He is the author of four books on utility GIS, and his articles and blogs have received more than half a million views.

A registered Professional Engineer, Bill has taught at Northeastern University and the University of Massachusetts and is a sought-after speaker known for making complex subjects clear and understandable. He now works as an independent consultant to the electric utility industry.
