    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    Bent Ear Solutions is currently seeking a Senior GIS Developer. Experience in public safety, emergency management, or related fields is helpful. This position demands high levels of teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to frequent changes in processes, priorities, and availability. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement GIS solutions for our clients. Collaborating with a team of developers, consultants, analysts, and project managers, you will deliver high-quality, client-focused services. Understanding how GIS can support and enhance emergency management operations is an important component of this position. The position also requires the ability to listen for and capture client requirements and turn those requirements into technological solutions. At BES, we help our clients do more with the technology they already own and this position plays a key role in meeting that mission.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Complete all aspects of assigned GIS projects, including design, maintenance, and production of geographic data and applications to create useful, user-friendly solutions.  

    • Maintain and update GIS databases, ensuring data integrity and consistency. 

    • Leverage Python scripting to automate processes and workflows.  

    • Conduct thorough research and analysis using GIS tools to enhance intelligence and operational effectiveness. 

    • Develop and maintain GIS documentation and standard operating procedures. 

    • Stay informed of emerging GIS technologies and their potential to enhance organizational capabilities.  

    • Effectively coordinate and communicate to manage projects independently, for optimal results in a fast-paced work environment. 

    • Be client-focused and adaptable to changing requirements and needs.  

    • Adhere to policies, procedures, regulations, and agreements related to information security. 

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Experience with databases and data modeling including designing, collecting, maintaining, validating, and publishing GIS data on the Esri ArcGIS Online platform and ArcGIS Pro, utilizing geodatabases, published layers and other associated data types. 

    • Experience with Python scripting to automate GIS processes and workflows. 

    • Extensive experience in developing visually appealing applications using Experience Builder, Dashboard, and other ArcGIS Web Application configuration tools. 

    • Extensive experience with web-based GIS using the Esri platform, including ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, and related applications (Survey123 Connect, Dashboard, ArcGIS Hub, Map Viewer, Experience Builder, etc.). 

    • An understanding of ArcGIS from an IT perspective, including hardware, software, storage, security, networking, servers, databases, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing. 

    • Experience in developing front-end web applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JS libraries such as React and JQuery preferred.

    EDUCATION & POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, Geography, or related field. 

    • 5+ years of experience in GIS (geospatial intelligence preferred). 

    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. 

    • Ability to work 40 hours or more a week as required by workload. 

    • Internet connection and the ability to work remotely. 

    • Ability to obtain Top-Secret Security Clearance.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    BES is seeking an analyst to provide direct support to a federal client that is responsible for monitoring, collecting, analyzing, and reporting on incidents that could impact, or are currently impacting, operations.  

    The Analyst should have a fundamental understanding of open-source research and the ability to navigate and investigate key areas of the internet. Analysts at all levels must be able to process data efficiently and communicate findings clearly, confidently, and quickly to colleagues. While the role requires the ability to work independently, collaboration with team members and stakeholders is essential to achieving the best outcomes. Given the dynamic nature of this work, the ideal candidate must be adaptable, flexible, and able to respond to shifting priorities, processes, and task requirements.  

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform extensive research and analysis in key areas of the open-source and deep and dark web.  

    • Process data and information and clearly communicate discoveries to their colleagues with confidence, clarity, and speed.  

    • Deliver reports and presentations in a thorough and professional manner. 

    • Support the implementation of OSINT policies and procedures.  

    • OSINT query-building and ongoing monitoring.  

    • Advise and provide input on policies and operational considerations.  

    • Provide direct support to a federal client responsible for monitoring, collecting, analyzing, and reporting on incidents that could, or are currently, having an impact on critical client operations.  

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Understands how to review, revise, and report data and information, including items that may be sensitive in nature. 

    • Ability to perform objective research and apply basic analytical techniques. 

    • Capable of applying logic and reason to tasks and new or complex situations. 

    • Ability to engage with stakeholders and partner agencies and be trusted to adequately represent the organization and client.  

    • Capable of both receiving and providing constructive feedback in a professional manner with team members, leadership, the client, and stakeholders. 

    • Experience coordinating with and briefing senior officials. 

    • Ability to work a flexible work schedule. 

    • Must possess basic computer skills, including use of MS Office products and telework technology. 

    • Advanced writing, communication, and presentation skills. 

    • Excellent research and analytical skills. 

    PREFERRED EDUCATION & POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligence, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or a related field required. 

    • 1 – 3 years of experience in related work preferred. 

    • Willingness and desire to learn new skills as our small company dictates throughout its growth. 

    • Ability to work 40 hours or more a week as required by workload. 

    • Ability to obtain Top-Secret Security Clearance.
