Role Description
Bent Ear Solutions is currently seeking a GIS Analyst with experience in emergency management, disaster response and recovery, or public safety. This position demands teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to frequent changes in processes, priorities, and availability. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement GIS solutions for our clients. Collaborating with a team of developers, consultants, analysts and project managers, you will deliver high-quality, client-focused services. Understanding how GIS can support and enhance emergency management operations is an important component of this position. The position also requires the ability to listen for and capture client requirements and turn those requirements into technological solutions. Responsibilities
Create useful, user-friendly GIS applications that satisfy client requirements, under the direction of the GIS Manager/Lead.
Effectively coordinate and communicate with team members and stakeholders as well as manage projects independently, for optimal results in a fast-paced work environment

Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and confidently to colleagues and stakeholders.
Adhere to policies, procedures, regulations, and agreements related to information security.
Offer insights and suggestions on GIS-related policies and operational strategies.
Complete all aspects of assigned GIS projects, including design, maintenance, and production of geographic data and applications.
Maintain and update GIS databases, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Collect, compile, and analyze spatial data from various sources to create accurate and detailed maps.
Conduct thorough research and analysis using GIS tools to enhance intelligence and operational effectiveness.
Develop and maintain GIS documentation and standard operating procedures.
Stay informed of emerging GIS technologies and their potential to enhance organizational capabilities.
Knowledge and skills
Experience in developing visually-appealing applications using Experience Builder, Dashboard, and other ArcGIS Web Application configuration tools.
Experience with web-based GIS using the Esri platform, including ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, and related applications (Survey123 Connect, Dashboard, ArcGIS Hub, Map Viewer, Experience Builder, etc.).
An understanding of ArcGIS from an IT perspective, including a basic knowledge of hardware, software, storage, security, networking, servers, databases, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing.
Experience in designing, collecting, maintaining, validating, and publishing GIS data on the Esri ArcGIS Online platform and ArcGIS Pro, utilizing geodatabases, published layers and other associated data types.
Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and partner agencies, representing the organization and client professionally.
Ability to review, revise, and report on data and information, including sensitive items.
Strong problem-solving skills in both independent and team settings.
Skilled in applying logic and reason to both routine tasks and new or complex situations.
Strong writing and grammar skills, ensuring clear and concise communication.
Experience in developing front-end web applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JS libraries such as React and JQuery are a plus but not required.
Experience with Python scripting to automate GIS processes and workflows are a plus but not required.
Education and position requirements
2+ years of experience in GIS (geospatial intelligence preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Science, Emergency Management, or a related field.
Willingness and desire to learn new skills as our small company dictates throughout its growth.
Ability to leverage cartography creatively, transforming spatial data into innovative and valuable information products tailored to meet the diverse needs of clients.
