    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    BES seeks a project manager with experience in public safety, law enforcement, or utilities to support clients in monitoring, collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data and technology solutions impacting their operations. The role involves leading all aspects of project delivery including building client relationships, coordinating team activities, and ensuring high-quality solutions that meet client needs. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as is occasional evening and weekend availability.

    FOCUS AREAS

    • Project Management/Delivery: Understand client dynamics and nuances to create value and move clients to ‘act and engage’ to achieve outcomes.

    • Client Relationship Management: Understand how to communicate and navigate effectively with different personality/leadership styles and how to translate this to individual clients.

    • Leadership/Communication: Lead the development of client deliverables and guide a process for product development and delegation.

    • Business Development: Participate in key business development opportunities and/or proposal development within project/account organization.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead project teams and manage project work by using BES methodologies and frameworks.

    • Lead project teams with diverse skill sets and experience levels.

    • Accountable for team success, project quality, and performance within contract requirements.

      • Design and manage the production of high-quality client deliverables. Responsible for QA/QC of project deliverables, ensuring that all project and client deliverables are of the highest quality.

    • Foster a positive team environment and enable effective communication and collaboration among projects and teams.

    • Provide leadership -- drive the team toward successful project completion and client satisfaction.

    • Provide mentorship, as needed, and provide regular feedback to staff. 

    • Accountable for project quality and performance within contract requirements. 

    • Track and report project/program success against work plan and project targets, including staff utilization, budget, scope, and timeline to completion.

      • Manage a full-time project or multiple part-time projects, successfully, by scoping tasks and managing resources to complete such tasks on time, within budget, and to defined requirements/specifications.

      • Manage financial aspects of project to include time tracking/reporting, invoicing, expense tracking/reporting, task planning, and status reporting.

        • Develop and maintain budgets in Smartsheets.

        • Develop and submit invoices (as contract requires). 

      • Ensure all contract-related documents/artifacts are stored on the BES shared drive IAW corporate file management procedures.

    • Develop trusted working relationships with clients - set and manage client expectations for work, staff, and the overall project experience.

      • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client.

      • Build ongoing relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

    • Work with the Leadership Team to support staff development and create a culture of learning that drives individual and organizational development.

      • Encourage team members to learn and identify growth opportunities.

      • Identify training requirements for delivery staff.

    • Serves as a facilitator for client/stakeholder/team engagement activities.

      • Design, facilitate, and manage client meetings to successfully achieve identified desired outcomes.

    • Support business development and growth within client organization/domain.

      • Identify organic growth (BD) opportunities within project environment/client. 

      • Provide input to marketing and BD efforts.

    • Provide input to internal process development and process improvement efforts.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Firm customer-focused orientation.

    • Experience managing/leading teams of people to accomplish short- and long-term objectives.

    • Experience managing project timelines and achieving deliverables on time and of high quality.

    • Experience managing complex budgets.

    • Experience tracking project financials and plans using project management tools.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to easily communicate and present ideas and findings.

      • Experience using the Microsoft suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentation creation tools, and research tools required.

    • Experience working with Esri, Esri partners, and/or Esri technology.

      • Knowledgeable about applying technology to organizational workflows.

    • Analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to problem-solve creatively.

    • Professional etiquette while interacting with peers and clients.

    • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance and/or a positive suitability determination (required for select projects).

    • Willingness and ability to travel and/or work on client site as needed.

    • Ability to remain positive, flexible, and action-oriented during ambiguous and/or complex situations.

    • Comfort with working with senior-level personnel including executives and chief elected officials.

    • Comfort with Business Development and Account Management within existing client portfolio.

    • A desire to learn, grow, and undertake new challenges to build out new knowledge sets.

    EDUCATION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in a professional services or client-facing environment

    • Excellent leadership and management skills 

    • Experience in project management, change management, and strategic communication.

    • Proficient writing, communication, and presentation skills 

    • Ability to work independently and in teams, inspiring creativity.

    • Willingness and desire to learn new skills as our small company dictates throughout its growth 

    • GIS experience is a plus.

    • Familiarity with Microsoft products and Smartsheet is a plus.

    • Develop user-friendly applications in Experience Builder, Operations Dashboard, and other ArcGIS Web Application configuration platforms, using modern web GIS fundamentals, such as feature/map layers and web maps. Familiarity with Arcade is a plus.

    • Collect, compile, and analyze spatial data from various sources to create accurate and detailed maps.

    • Collaborate with clients and project teams to understand requirements and develop solutions.

    • Work with large data sets and databases to manage and analyze data.
