Installation Resilience Operations Center (IROC)

In response to the catastrophic impacts of Hurricane Michael in 2018, Tyndall Air Force Base (AFB) embarked on a $4.2 billion reconstruction effort, aiming to become a digitally integrated fighter base for the future. Bent Ear Solutions (BES) collaborated with Tyndall AFB to support this transformation through the creation of the IROC. The IROC initiative integrates critical infrastructure data with real-time monitoring to enhance operational awareness, disaster response, and risk mitigation. BES developed a virtual operations center (VOC), aggregating and analyzing data from numerous IoT sensors and systems across the base, providing a comprehensive geospatial decision-making platform. The project also facilitated unprecedented data sharing and coordination with local and state emergency management agencies, enabling seamless defense support to civil authority (DSCA) missions. Advanced mobile applications, secure access protocols, and role-based controls were implemented to support users from site surveyors to emergency services, reinforcing a collaborative approach to resilience and readiness at Tyndall AFB.

Performance

BES successfully delivered a state-of-the-art virtual operations center on schedule and within the allocated budget, enhancing the operations of Tyndall Air Force Base. The project was executed with high precision, meeting all specified requirements and operational expectations.
